Client Spotlight: Beth Van Dyke

One of our favorite parts of what we do is getting to know the people behind the businesses we work with. For our latest client spotlight, we sat down with Beth Van Dyke to talk about growing up in a family business, carrying that legacy forward, building a team she’s proud of and what she’s learned along the way.

When did you first realize you wanted to run a business?

I don’t think there was one defining moment. It felt more like growing up inside a story that had already been shaped by generations before me. Being part of a family business means you see grit, responsibility, and integrity every day. Over time I realized I didn’t just want to contribute to that legacy. I wanted to help carry it forward and make sure the next chapter stayed true to the values that built it.

How did you pick the business you work in today?

In many ways, the business picked me. I grew up around construction and remodeling and the kind of problem solving that happens inside real homes with real families. Re-Bath became the perfect place for me to blend leadership, craftsmanship, and customer care. It gave me the chance to work with a team that genuinely cares about the people we serve.

What does a typical day look like for you now?

My days revolve around keeping our team aligned and our homeowners supported. I meet with our leadership team, Chrissy and Jon, to make sure every project is moving smoothly and every showroom feels consistent. I oversee sales and marketing, refine processes, and make sure our customer experience stays strong from the first appointment to the final walkthrough. I stay connected to homeowners through our team and step in directly when it’s needed, especially if someone needs extra support or reassurance. Every day is about keeping the business steady, the team confident, and the experience predictable.

What is something homeowners are always surprised by during a bathroom remodel?

Homeowners are always surprised by how organized and efficient the process is. Most people expect dust, delays, and confusion because that’s what they’ve seen or heard about remodeling. Instead, they see a structured system, clear communication, and a team that specializes in bathroom remodeling. Because we focus on this specific area, the work moves quickly and predictably, and homeowners are often shocked by how fast everything comes together.

What is one thing you wish every homeowner knew before starting a project?

The materials you choose matter more than the inspiration photo you saved. Maintenance free is not just a trendy phrase. It is the difference between loving your bathroom for the next fifteen years or spending your weekends scrubbing grout. Choose materials that fit the life you actually live, not the one you saw online.

What is one goal you are still working toward in your business or personally?

Consistency. I want every home, every install, and every customer to have the same great experience. I also want to keep building a team that loves what we do and feels proud of the work we deliver. When people feel proud, everything else gets better.

If your brand were a design style, what would it be and why?

Modern Midwest Practical. Clean lines, warm tones, durable materials, and not fussy. It feels lived in, trustworthy, and built to last. The style reflects the way we approach every project: thoughtful, intentional, and grounded in real life. It’s beautiful without being fragile, warm without being cluttered, and designed to hold up to everyday use. It’s the kind of style that makes people feel at home, which is exactly what we want homeowners to feel when their project is complete.

If Hollywood made a movie about your business, who would play you?

Sandra Bullock. She is warm, funny, and tough when she needs to be. She leads with heart, handles chaos with charm, and somehow manages to stay grounded no matter what is happening around her. That combination of strength and warmth is exactly how I aspire to show up for my team and for the homeowners who trust us.

If 1123 were a band, which band would they be?

If I had to compare 1123 to a band, it would be Journey. Journey has been around for decades, and people trust them because they show up with the same steady, reliable sound every time. That kind of longevity only happens when you care deeply about your craft and the people who count on you. That is exactly how 1123 operates. They are consistent, loyal to the work, and committed to doing things the right way. 1123 is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure the experience feels right for every customer they serve.

What is something you hope your future self never forgets?

Reputation is built one decision at a time. And the small moments matter. The conversations with homeowners, the wins with your team, and the legacy my family created are what make the work meaningful.
